K im having a little hastle trying to pick my clubs so far im going with a razr hawk driver and razr x hybrid and an odyssey dart putter but having trouble deciding which irons i should buy any recommendations? ones that i have noticed are Ping G15 Ping Anser Cobra S3 Callaway Razr X Taylormade Burner 2.0 I know theres many irons out but anyone got any ideas which ones will be best for forgiveness but gimmie a strong distance and high ball flight? (Driver hybrid putter recommendations welcome also) plz gimmie some proof of the clubs when you post sos just want abit more than “taylormade all the way” thnx people

Best Set of Irons for Me?

I have played golf very, very casually for a couple years. I want to improve my game and get a new set of irons that may be a bit forgiving for a novice player. Now, I used a set I bought a couple years ago, it was a bundle set for 180 bucks, and it came with the irons, driver, fairway woods, putter, bag, everything, etc.

The set I currently have is a set of Ram “Wizards” I believe.

I don’t want to go crazy, but I see that I can get some seemingly decent used Callaway clubs for around 300-400 bucks. I would really like to be in the 300-400 price range. Lastly, I don’t need a driver right now. My shots with my Irons are all (90% of the time lol) straight and pretty good, I just need to work on distance and hill shots.

I say I don’t need a driver right now because I have a very, very weird issue to work out. With my driver, I have a problem where I came down on the ball, and sometimes smack the bottom of the club, on top of the ball. That problem has diminished recently, and I haven’t done it in a while. But I still have a pretty bad slice with my big driver. (Normally I just aim left so it offsets my slice, ha). Anyway, I don’t want to buy a nice driver and then, well….break it.

Any info/recommendations on a set of irons would be great!!!

You can actually get a set of new clubs by a good brand for 300-400 dollars. In fact, I bought a brand new set of Taylormade Burner Plus Combo Graphite Irons on eBay for $ 385 with shipping. I caution you when buying clubs on eBay, though, because I’d have to say that perhaps 50% of clubs on eBay are fake. I’d try going after clubs that are being sold from a VERY reputable seller (like a power seller with at least a 1000 feedback rating and a 99.7 or higher feedback percentage). My Burner Plus Combo Graphite Irons retail in stores for almost $ 800!

There are SO many good choices on eBay. You also try checking in-store at your local golf retailers because they usually have new sets for a decent price. What brand are you looking for? Steel or graphite shaft? I am just getting back started to playing golf again and need a good set of clubs but not a pro set just one with a lot of forgivness bc im sure I will need that a lot. I recently went to dick’s sporting goods and they told me the callaways were better for forgivness than the r7′s…..is this correct??? if not what is????? I have the Callaway x18 irons and i love them! The ball feels like it jumps right off the culb when you hit it, and it feels really solid. They have a great feel for the forgiveness, im not sure about the forgiveness for the r7′s, though a kid on my golf team loves them and wont get rid of them. Also the r7′s will give you a little more height than the x18′s.

The one thing that stands out is the fact that the term Stainless Steel is never mentioned as the material that the head is made from. Although the clubs look good in the photos you can rest assured that the clubs are zinc die cast and the low price reflects the cheap construction technique. Probably not a good buy so think before you buy cheap clubs. You’d be better off trying to buy a nice used set made from quality materials and a name brand will deliver that.

Your whole teeth doesn’t have to be the Lapplander marque but I suggest your busman and wood to be the Saame. I have taylormade busman, bentwood, hyrbids, golfer. Titleist Irons and Cleveland Wedges. I also suggest the X 20 Callaway irons. They are finale twelvemonth framework so they will be cheaper but photo an amazing, forgiving, club.
