how should i stand in my golf swing when driving?

Mai 22, 2010

now i’m not good at golf at all(only ever par’d once in my life) but i was wondering how i should stand when i’m driving the ball from the T- box. i mean i actually notice on my driver that i have scuff marks on the bottom of my driver so obviously i’m scraping the ground a bit too much. Also i’ve started to notice dents in my driver on the bottom from hitting the ball with a great force haha. so do i need to stand further back in my stance or more forward? or something else?

  1. Nat Said,

i stand almost straight up, then bend my knees a bit, and then just barely tilt my upper body torward the ball then, stretch my arms out just about as far as they will reach, tilt the staff towards my front knee just barely. Half of the ball should be taller than the head of the club and even with you front foot of course. Just swing back slowly and focus on hitting the ball square-not hitting it hard- just hitting it square in the middle of your driver.

  2. T Ritz Said,

off the tee you want the ball more toward your front foot. As you get into higher irons (aka shorter range, more loft) you move the ball further back in your stance. You don’t want your arms to stretched out, they should be out, but a slightly relaxed out. And make sure to keep your head down.
