What is a good Driver for a Golfer?

August 21, 2011

Question by shortyhead1: What is a full Driver for a Golfer?
I am 16 and not new to golf. This will be my former teeth of my own club though. I have a pretty commonweal try and thrust on norm 250+ yard with my uncle’s busman relatively heterosexual. My former selection of marque would be Callaway, but Taylor Made would washing. I’m not so much look for a marque as I am a particular framework though, so that would be very helpful. Also 1 that I could return for a commonweal damage used. Also, does anyone own a Callaway X460, I’d variety to knowing if that would be access for me, because I heard they were commonweal.

I got a Callaway X460 9 deg. Stiff Fujikura line for LE than $ 200 earlier this date. I have played with it twice and I REALLY variety it! I would have to say that it’s the try busman I have ever owned. I have gained 20+ pace with it.

I would suggest the Cleveland HiBore XL, it must have added 20 yards at least to my drive. I use`;Ve Titliest 975J and it’s no comparison.

  2. Jim Said,

Be sure and go to a pro shop that lets you try all brands of drivers.

Taylor Made R5 is a very good choice it may be a few years old but get the right shaft for your swing and you will love it

  4. Mark M Said,

It can depend on a lot of things. The club head itself will have some effect, there are clubs that correct a natural slice or hook but the shaft makes a huge difference. How fast you swing can determine what shaft you should use. A lot of times a pro shop will let you hit multiple drivers on their range. The last two friends I have had buy drivers have both gone with clear ideas and ended up buying something different because it just worked better for them.

If you are wanting a used club it will limit your choices a little more to what is in stock. That might not be a bad thing. I honestly don’t think there is any one club that is clearly better than another. Practice with a few different ones. Some places even let you take them out for a round and bring them back.

i have demod several mof the leading drivers. i have had the most success with taylormaade drivers. not just the superquad, but the burner as well was awesome. the nike sumo, was good, but i didint like the feel of it. the ft-i was horrible and i didnt like titelist drivers

  6. steve b Said,

if you want a callaway i would get a ft-3 or ft-5.But taylormade seem to hit alot further. The r7′s( the 460 and 460 superquad are easy to hit but the 425 is harder to hit but better if you can hit it.)I have the 425.There is also the burner but the best driver out just now must be the burner tp (tour preferred). The tp is alot dearer than the normall one though and its alot better club.I also have it and i love them but the r7 425 comes off the face harder than any 460.Good luck!
