A complete teeth would be a Driver, deuce Fairway Woods a figure 3 and a figure 5. A teeth of Irons in the ambit of figure 3 to figure 9 and a Pitching Wedge and Sand Wedge. Then an offer club of the linksman’s selection which is wherefore there is always a supernumerary infinite in a linksman’s container. It could be filled with specialized splintering club or putter or evening some of the offering loan-blend club and chemical wedge. I prefer Ping my Wife prefers Callaway.

  1. Steve915 Said,

If I was a beginner and was limited to just 8 clubs they would be:

    1. Driver (or, if you have difficulty hitting a driver, a 3 Wood.)

    2. 3 Wood (in additon to the Driver). You can use the 3 wood from the tee or the fairway.

    3. 3 iron (or hybrid utility club)

    4. 5 iron

    5. 7 iron

    6. 9 iron

    7. pitching wedge

    8. putter

If you don’t carry the Driver and use the 3 Wood instead, then I would add a sand wedge as my 8th club.

  2. ANSWER SAURUS Said,

    3 wood/5 wood
    3/4 iron hybrid
    5 iron
    9 iron
    Wedge of some sort

  3. unkoolaid Said,

just because you have 8 slots in your bag doesnt mean it only holds 8 clubs. more than one can fit. another tip is to not only be willing to get ping or callaway. i understand brand loyalty but do some research. if you still only want 5 more clubs, even though its strange to get individual irons and not a set, you would probably want:
    1. 3 wood
    2. 3 iron
    3. 5 iron
    4. 9 iron
    5. pitching wedge

  4. green_lantern66 Said,

    3 wood (specifically, a 15*).

two hybrids, one in the lower 20s, another in the upper 20s (23 and 26, for example). These can be used anywhere, from long shots in the rough to chips just off the green, to tee shots on long par 3s or short par 4s. They are incredibly versatile long iron replacements.

5 irons- 5, 9, PW, GW and SW. Now you’ll have a long enough iron for when you’re outside your 7 iron range, the 7 iron you have, a 9 iron for when you’re inside your 7 iron range, and three scoring clubs. The PW, GW, and SW should have 4 degrees difference (for example, a 46* PW, a 50* GW and a 54* SW) so that the majority of your shots inside 100 yards can be full swings- a major bonus to being consistent. you can chip/pitch the same way… same stroke, just different clubs for different lengths.

Some food for thought- ditch the driver for now and pick up a 19* 5 wood. The woods can be used off the tee and the fairway/rough, plus the higher loft will help with consistency (as in a more straighter shot), while giving you only a slight disadvantage in regards to length. The trade-off is well worth it, and when your swing becomes more consistent and reliable, you can put the driver back in the bag.

  5. Ry Said,

If you only want five more clubs your going to need at least one wedge if you just get one i would suggest a sandwedge or 56* and then you would need a 9 iron 5 iron and a either 3 wood or 16* hybrid. Then with the remaining clubs i would proceed to fill out your iron set from the bottom up so next buy a PW or a 8 iron and then 6 iron etc. etc. Most people play golf with 14 clubs (the max) so playing with eight could potentially be pretty difficult. If your looking for cheap clubs ebay is always good to get nicer brand Taylormade Titleist Callway at a discounted price. Also if your looking for newer cheaper clubs Adam’s and Nickent are intermediate brands Nickent would be great for the Hybrid. If you find you have more questions about specific clubs feel free to ask!
