August 10, 2011

Question by jajoben13: Does having the better in golf, assist you in the recollective jog?
Okay, so when i go to the drive reach, or drama 9 or 18, i ALWAYS seat peoples with chapiter of the formation club. and yet, the drama sort poop. My pop has been bowing for 5 year and ive been bowing for 3 and i got his hand-me-feather Wilson nine and he bought 800 clam usage river club. but heres the gimmick, we played with a grouping of his friend, and they had nike, taylor made, callaway, and river club and i had the complete teeth from wilson, and, i went 5 under score and only 1 of them went 2 under. so, the enquiry is, does it really substance to spend that much appropriation and exposure suction?

People dross a SHIT burden of appropriation on golf nine. You could have the resultant club ever and pic do Great! I was playing with my friend WHO has callaway x-22′s and I round him by 3 hole! All that I utilization is Top Flite xl’s. Great for tiro and I photograph do commonweal. So to reply the question it doesn’t substance at all which club you have. The portion that should really substance is that you adoration the competition that your bowing and have merriment bowing it. Hope that I cleared this up for you.

  1. Mellida Adam Said,

    of course

  2. matthew Said,

Its not really about the brand name or the “best”. The best is a matter of opinion. All of the new clubs out there today are pretty equal. The USGA has set boundaries as to how the manufactures can make clubs. for instance the driver can only have a certain amount of spring effect in the face and all of the drivers out there are equal, well any produced in the past few years. In my opinion a set of custom clubs of any brand will make any player better. having the clubs you have custom fit for your game will make you better, or at least give you the opportunity to be the best you can. There are a lot of golfer out there that think they can buy a better game. All they are really doing is buying a little bit of confidence, but that will go away soon after they realize that its not the club that’s going to make them better. It comes down to one simple thing practice!

It isn’t what you play. Those guys are just buying their stuff off the rack, so they’re too long, the loft’s are too low, they’re likely too upright with inconsistent shaft stiffness and the grips aren’t the right size. The swingweight’s are probably off, as well.

If you took your clubs, your dad’s, and your dad’s buddies and had all of their specs made the same, they’ll all perform the same. Name has NOTHING to do with quality or performance. This has been so since golf manufacturers went public; they have a need to make the stockholders happy, not allow people to play their best. Not only that, but they’re all made in the same foundries, by the same people, with the same machines, with the same quality standards.

The name of the game is getting properly fit. Just like wearing shoes the correct size, having clubs that fit will enhance your strengths while mitigating your misses. They aren’t a cure-all (just like buying the new LeBron shoes will suddenly make a person NBA worthy), but it’s better to have your clubs work WITH you instead of AGAINST you.

nah. I once shot a 34 on the front nine after playing only 7 rounds. this was done with the clubs my step dad had discarded. I grabbed what I could to make a small set of clubs for myself. this was back in 87 I believe and I was playing with a guy who was a plus 2 handicap on that round. he was 1 under and I was 2 under going into 9 and he was dumbstruck. I still think of it as a lot of luck and ignorance combined. I was hitting with old knockoff blades and real woods. there wasn’t a cavity back among the 6 clubs I had in the bag. Good clubs do help a ton but clubs does not a golfer make.

P.S. The guy I played with made me play everything down and i actually took a water shot on a par 5 and stuck it about 6 feet away and made the putt to save par. That was probably my first and last water shot…

  5. Robert Said,

Yes to have the right club life gets easier. Also they say it’s not the bow but the indian

  6. Ali Said,

They don’t hurt if you have the money to get them but like you said you can shoot 5 under with the ones you have, so why would you want to trade those in? I mean it’s a movie but have you ever seen “Tin cup” there’s a seen when he plays a guy with gardening tools and wins or just a 7 iron.

Any way if you got the spare cash it might not hurt put you can already shoot under with what you got.

  7. David Said,

No, unless you have the best swing. The swing is the thing.
